Hi I’m Steve!

Hi I’m Steve Anthes and I teach guitar lessons in Madison, WI. Teaching guitar has been my career for over ten years now. In those years I have developed many great techniques for both the beginner, intermediate, and advanced player. The longer I teach the more I recognize what works and what doesn’t. Having clear instruction for the beginner will help get results faster. Beginners who teach themselves don’t place enough emphasis on the physical side of playing! If your an intermediate player you may not know exactly how to proceed further on your own. This is something I deal with all the time and can help you get back on track. Helping advanced players is a bit different in that I need to sit with them to understand where they are and what the are looking for. No matter what stage you are in your playing lessons can help tremendously.

What They Say

Steve’s Bands

Mickey Magnum is a 6 piece original rock band.  Last year the band wrote and recorded there first full length album called “Mayhem.”  The goal of the band was to bring back high energy fun rock guitar music.  Writing original music is flexing a completely different muscle.  Steve was trying to create fun riffs that you just don’t hear anymore.  They have also infused the harmonica into each of the songs that give a very unique sound.  Check out Mickey Magnum on any streaming service!

The Zero’s is a high energy 8 piece dancing machine.  Infusing funk, soul, blues, and r&b you get “Mofunk.”  Your going to hear horn, keys, and guitar solos that hit you in the right spot.  Steve love’s playing this style as he gets to work on not only his solo chops, but also his rhythm.  It is challenging music to play that keeps each player on their toes.  And the dancers!  Come check out The Zero’s next time they are playing in Madison.

Let’s do this!

I’m looking forward to meeting you. Send a note or call so we can do a free meet and greet!
